And then there are so many other things.
The people. The local people of Bogue Banks don't know how to be anything other than friendly and relaxed. I don't know how that happened but it's true. You can never "become" a local. You are only a local if you were born here. More of the residents, like me, are from "off" and we quickly learn how to relax, enjoy and be friendly too. I guess we never outgrow peer pressure.
The weather. Even hurricanes can be exciting and draw people together. But most of the time the weather is temperate and mild. Summers never get too hot because we have that wonderful ocean breeze. Winters rarely see freezing, but the occasional snow is exciting and quickly disappears.
The wildlife. From pelicans to gulls, to turtles; dolphin coming close to shore; squirrels; snakes; evendeer, there is an abundance of wildlife on and around Bogue Banks to satisfy your primitive side.
The restaurants. Whether you want a shrimp burger to go or a gourmet meal in a classy atmosphere, it's all available on Bogue Banks..
