'Ping' - ing me to death? What?
All righty now!
I've known about Ping as an SMO strategy for a long time. It's one-stop 'all-your-social-media-at-one-time' update shop.
You get your account with Ping and link it to all of your SMO sites: Facebook, Twitter, Linked In, etc.
Here's what sort of floored me-There are 37 Social Networks available for connecting and managing through Ping. 37, count ‘em, and more on the way.
Some I've heard of such as Myspace and Plaxo, but I don't really use them.
Some I've never heard of such as plurk, bebo, and shoutem just to name three.
Is anyone using any social media sites other than the big ones?
Is it worth it to create a presence on all of them just to increase your SMI (Social Media Interaction) score? (remember, I made up the SMI-I think it's cool).
I don't know but I have discovered that, through my Ping account, it's easy to create an account on all the others. And I figure, since Ping updates them automatically, I never have to go in and check them once they are created.
I'm wondering how you all feel about all of these other site. Is there value in having an internet/web/SMO presence even if they are really small sites?
I'd love your feedback on this. And, I'll blog my experience in a month or two, after I find the time to set up another 30 or so sites (you still have to fill in, or copy and paste, all your profile info-can't believe there's not an app for that) and start seeing a change in things such as google rankings.
Let me know your thoughts!
