I love the Brady Bunch, glad summer is over and fall is about to occur.  Fall is about the prettiest time of year.  The changing of the leaves is absolutely amazing.  Wow.

Hey Change!  Yeah, you!  I'm calling you out!  It's the Fall Season of Change and we've got some work to do!

It's fall.  And to me that means a NEW YEAR.  I don't start my new year celebration when it's cold and ickyChurch and Fall Leaves outside, I start mine when the air is crisp, the leaves are turning, the apples are sweet, the kids are in school (I think grown-ups should get to do back to school shopping too!) you can wear short sleeves during the day, but need a sweater in the evening, you can take a hay ride and you get to rake the fallen leaves.  THAT, to me, signifies a NEW YEAR!

Sure, you can see the changes in the leaves and grass.  But more than that, it's in the air.  Stop and take a deep breath . . .  Smell that?  It's the Fall Season of Change.  And it's invigorating!  It's inviting us all to step back, evaluate, decide where we want to be, analyze what's working and what's not, plan a course of action to get where we want to go and then implement the changes needed to take us there and beyond.

I have been operating without a definitive plan of action for a while now.  Big surprise, it ain't workin'!  I've had some pretty major losses, some pretty big setbacks and I've been off my game.  I'm not working at capacity and that saddens and disappoints me.  I know how well I do when I'm on my game, and I need to get back to that place.

I am tweaking my entire world.  I do nothing half way, it's all or nothing with me.  Don't really know why, but if I'm going to make a change in one part of my life, I need to make changes in all parts of my life. I guess it's because if one part of my world isn't working, it throws all the parts off-kilter.

My brain has been percolating with ideas about what and where I am going to make these changes.  And then Sally Cheeseman issued her Fall Season Contest -- and I decided that it was time to quit making the soup and eat it.  I have some pretty big plans and a few changes to make that I believe will set me and my business on the right track for the rest of 2010 and all of 2011.

First, I am going to change my eating and exercise habits.  I have simply stopped taking care of the body that has taken care of me for !&$# years.  It's time to correct that.  I have started walking once a day, plan to be up to twice a day by the end of the month.  My daughter is an excellent cook and she really knows how to eat right -- so she's going to prepare some meals for me to keep on hand for those days when cooking isn't in the cards.  And I'm going to quit buying the wrong foods.  How many of us need to do that?Tree in Fall

Secondly, I am going to take time for ME!  I am going to learn how to read a book without feeling guilty, watch an old black and white movie and not answer the home phone, get a manicure and pedicure every two weeks.

Third, well third is all about business!  I love, love, love what I do!  Can't imagine a better way to earn a living.  But I need to catch up on all the newest and latest.  Well, maybe not all of it -- I'll probably never get into Twitter!  But I need to work on my website and my lead generation.  I'm great face-to-face, it's my online presence which leaves much to be desired.  So I am going to be dedicating one hour a day to getting up-to-speed.  I have no idea how long it will take -- but since I plan to be around for a quite a while, I've got the time.

Fourth, I'm going to go back to school.  In order to learn what I need to know, I will need some training.  And I do best with a class atmosphere.  So I'm signing up for some SEO and Social Media classes.  I know many of you are able to learn and implement from online tutorials, but I need face-to-face.  I need to be able to ask my questions, my way, so that it makes sense to me.  Using the internet in my business plan does not come naturally to me, so there is much for me to learn and PUT TO USE!  Not enough to have the ideas floating around in my head, I must use the knowledge I gain to grow my business.

Fifth and most importantly, I am going to work on healing old wounds.  As much as I don't like to admit it, I've been wrong and I have said and done things I am not proud of.  I am going to use this Fall Season of Change to apologize for past transgressions, ask for forgiveness and learn to move-on.  I believe this will be the BEST change I make  in this Fall Season of Change, the single most important gift I can give myself and those around me.

Change can be scary.  Change can bring out the worst in us.  Change can flip our world upside down.  Change can make or break us.  It is how we choose to deal with Change that determines where we're going and what kind of journey we will have getting there.

I'm choosing to grab Change by the hand and make it my partner.  We'll be quite the pair, Change and I.  We'll probably argue a little, quit speaking once in a while, go to bed angry even.  But we'll get back together.  Seems the key to working WITH Change, is not letting our fears get the best of us.  I'm ready for Change.  Hope Change is ready for me!

I found this video to be inspiring in my quest for Change, I hope it does the same for you!

Wow, you certainly do have quite a few changes coming your way. Sounds like a new you. Best of luck, just one at a time, right?
