Web Promotion Workshop for Portland / Vancouver Real Estate Agents

August 15, 2007 Portland / Vancouver -- At the Academy in Beaverton, First American Title, RE/MAX and new AR member Scott Hendison of www.SearchCommander.com put on an informative workshop on 12 important actions real estate agents must do to promote their websites.

Scott's background comes from a PC sales and repair business, which he once owned. As the Internet was becoming more commercial in the 1990's he found that his phone rang more for repair requests when folks could find him on the Internet. He has since departed from computer sales and repair, and now his business focus is on helping companies to be "found" on the Internet, and be successful with their Internet marketing.

I won't repeat the 12 action items here in this report that Scott covered. Instead, please see Scott's SEO 101 for more information related to the workshop.

I will add my two-cents worth however: First, get quality inbound links to your site. If your ActiveRain BLOG and other BLOGs are not linking to your web-site(s), take the necessary corrective action. You'll also want lot's of links -- will you follow the FSBO model (aka -- do it yourself) or the Professional Model and hire Scott or someone of that caliber?

Second, plaster your website's address on every real estate related print media you use, e-mail signature line, and even put it into your voice-mail message. Top Portland / Vancouver real estate agents are doing this every day with success!

Finally, more and more fresh Content relevant to our business and the communities we work in is critical. Our web presence must provide useful information to our visitors, including the web-crawling robots that search and rank our websites.
