Wednesday morning Joe was not a happy camper.  After three stressful days of hide and seek with the mouse, and not one, not two but THREE failed traps he was feeling a bit stumped.  That morning he had woken up, to discover that all three traps had been tampered with.  The wooden one had been licked, the snapper had snapped and the sticky pad was actually gone!  No mouse in sight.

When Joe returned home from work he reset the two snap traps in hopes that the mouse would return for more than night.  Since the sticky pad was missing, he was unsure whether the mouse was still alive and maybe even stuck to the inside of his walls.

Morning #4 came and again, no mouse, although evidence proved that the mouse was still alive and enjoying the midnight snacks left in its honor.  That night, Joe did some searching and recovered the sticky pad.  The mouse had actually outsmarted the sticky pad.  Behind the oven, it had leveraged itself and the sticky pad between the wall and the hole where the gas lines lead and pulled itself off!  Not amused, Joe again reset the three traps.

He woke up Friday morning with a pessimistic outlook and wasn't surprised to find the traps were still set and there was no victim and goodies were gone.

Friday afternoon when Joe returned home he decided to take a quick look and see if the mouse had made a daily round for tasty niblets.  To his surprise when he turned to look, it was the moment he had been waiting for.  Fiefel would not be heading making any more trips West.

After a grueling week of being out-moused, Joe was happy that the end had come.  He could finally sleep restfully, knowing that the villain was out of his house.  Well, except that fact that when he woke up the next morning, more mouse droppings were discovered in the downstairs basement... Feifel had brought a guest and the traps were set yet again.

Mouse #2 was discovered early Monday morning in the basement storage room.  His leg had stuck in one of the snap traps, but when Joe rounded the corner and looked it in the eye it wriggled for it's life and set itself free; scurrying behind all the boxes that were stacked from the recent move.  Later that night, the mouse would make no more escapes.  It couldn't resist the temptation of a salty snack and the traps follow-ed through on their purpose.

A week passed and there was no sign of mice.  Joe and his fiance were happy to be rodent free.

It was finally over - well the "chase" that is...  it seemed the mice had made themselves an especially warm bed in the house.
