I’m going to let my fellow Active Rain community members in on a little secret tool that I use- Twitter
I’m sure many of you have heard of Twitter, and how you can have a micro blog updated by SMS or Instant Messenger. However I use Twitter a little different.
Whenever I have an idea (blog, marketing strategy, the next Google), it sticks in my head for about 1 minute before I’m distracted by something else. Usually I am scrambling for a piece of paper, and by the time I find it, the idea is gone.
I now use Twitter for the hosting of my ideas. Now when I have an idea, I simply text my idea to Twitter, and can retrieve it later. Twitter also works on Instant Messenger, so if I’m at my computer and a lightbulb goes off, I just IM Twitter and it saves the idea.
Twitter is set up to allow your messages to be viewed publicly, so unless you want everyone seeing your ideas, you need to make your ideas private. In your account settings, there is a check box to ‘Protect my Updates.'
You can share your ideas with your friends or team by simply adding them as followers.
Give it a try, and let me know what you think, and how you use Twitter.
hhhmmm, That is very imnteresting. I had never heard of twitter before. I will have to check into it.
