Keeping with my recent theme of producing short videos that better describe a problem to a client than can easily be done with words alone, I have produced a short video on water heater temperature pressure relief valve and drain line installation. Just yesterday I did a re-inspect at a new house here in Whatcom County. The first time around the builder had made a drain line out of PVC tubing. I cited that as wrong so he has now "fixed" it by using CPVC tubing that is routed up hill. It went from bad to worse.
So far the videos have been going over well with clients in Bellingham area and I have been getting numerous calls or Email because of them. They get attention. Some people much prefer the medium to reading and, having played with it, I will admit that one can impart information with clarity when words and appropriate photos are used together as an instructional video. I had a fellow call and say that I had done the only video he could find on anobiid beetles so he was thrilled to learn more about them since they had moved into his crawl space some years ago. Here is a video that focuses only on TPR valves and drains. This is a general video (not too much detail but basics) on a safety device that needs to be installed right, otherwise the tank might explode.
Thanks for stopping by,
Steven L. Smith
