Long's Peak through a smoky sky

Greetings from Estes Park!

We are surrounded by a few forest fires at the moment, the firefighters have them well under control where there are homes, and the National Park is letting some that are remote forest areas in the Park to burn themselves out.

One of the results of the fires is a smoky haze that makes for interesting sunrise and sunset skies. Here's what Long's Peak looked like a few nights ago...Long's Peak through a smoky sky

Lisa, I hope that they are able to get those fires out soon!  They do make for some really cool photographs however!

Hi Lisa...I hiked to the summit of Long's Peak today. On the way down I noticed a fire north of Estes Park. It seemed to be put out within an hour or so.

Hi Lisa, the wildfires have made our normally bright blue skies a little hazy!  I love your photo.  Last night, I saw huge billows of white sitting in the valleys--- not smoke, but fog!  Hope we will be fire free soon.
