Oh my -- I am afraid I do not know. Looks like a very good artist... I'll be back to find out the answer. I love the way you did this and I think it is a lot of fun for people to try to guess who this is.
That makes two of us, Kathy. I was going to try to google it, but there are not enough clues. So...I will check back to see who he is. Curious minds want to know! :OD
Okay, I went to 7 different sites including the Uxbridge photo gallery. No luck. Can't wait to find out, though.
Hi Kathy...a local artist for sure, no idea of a name.
Cheers
Kathy: No idea and as I am travelling all day from Heathrow to Toronto all day, I'll be thinking of it!
Ty
Would he be A.Y. Jackson? That's pretty much the only group of 7 dude I can remember off the top of my head.
One Of The Key Words Here Is Ontario
Malcolm Johnston
is in
The Rigt Era
He Spent A Lot Of Time
In Central and North Central Ontario
He painted for about 1/6 of his life
and only 3 Years full time
Most of his work was never signed
and he produced less than 50 canvasas
he spent a lot of time in Algonquin Park
Tom Thompson? He seems to be the most famous of the seven, but I couldn't find anything on this statue? Still looking.
AHA, I found it. It's in front of the Huntsville Civic Center. Thanks for a great mystery.
You should suggest this as a group in activerain. It's fun!!!
Juli - there is such a group Name That Photo! where I normally post these.
Hi Kathy...Juli is one sharp cookie
THE REVEAL

History of The Group Of Seven
Well I'm afraid I'm not up to speed on our Canadian artists but I like his hat. Looks like he was a pretty handsome dude.
Jenny - One of the things you have to love about the internet is the ease with which one can get "up to speed" about any given subject.
Kathy, thank you for the group lead. I signed up. What fun. I'm thinking this is the perfect thing to do at a boring open house!!!!
And, thanks for a great mystery - I enjoy learning new things.
Julie - I trust you will enjoy as I have
This is always a lot of fun. I think Juli is on to something about the open house idea.
Dan - they usually are and they help us to learn about one another as well.
