I've been working with a couple interested in buying Foreclosure properties for investments...This couple attended a Seminar on buying Foreclosures.... This couple invested $10,000 in the program....Unfortunately, they could have taken that same $10,000 and used it towards the purchase of a property...Too late now...Helping this couple inspired this blog....

Anyways....Getting back to why I decided to write about Foreclosures...

I will often preview properties on behalf of my Buyers...I have gone into so many foreclosures that I have to wonder if the homeowners fled the property because the house is a piece of crap....I have been in shock at some of the homes and the quality of construction!!  I was in one home on the second level...I thought that I was going to fall down into the garage!!  I was in another home and the foundation was not level.  The floorboards had huge gaps which emphasized the unlevel foundation issues.  I was in another home that was a forclosure on new home...it was located at the bottom of a very tall hill...The home had a pungent odor that made me feel sick as I toured the home.  I was in another home with a laminent floor throughout most of the home...the flooring was curling up around the perimeter of the rooms with a section of black in one area on the first floor...I went upstairs to discover a leaky toilet just above the black area on the first floor.

There is an entire subdivision of newer homes that were actually built on land mines !!  Homeowners were digging in their yards and unearthed these land mines !!!  If the Homeowners were able to discover land mines while digging in their backyards you would think that the builder had to have encountered the same issue...

It's easy to find articles on the rise in foreclosures because the homeowners had financial issues or the homeowners this or the homeowners that....Well what about the quality of construction issue ???  I found a website for Homeowners that live in poorly constructed homes and would like support.  Check out www.HADD.com .  HADD stands for Homewoners Against Deficient Dwellings.  The HADD website is filled with articles and resources that might be helpful to a homeowner stuck with a lemon of a house.
