It's been 30 years and running. The Old Pecan Street Festival is an Austin institution. On September 25 the Pecan Street Festival will take place on world famous 6th Street from 11 am - 10 pm. On Sundays September 26th, the festival will resume from 11am - 8 pm.
What started out as Pecan Street, eventually became the entertainment district we know as 6th Street. Enjoy live music, food, art and woodwork, amongst other household items. Admission is free.
I used to live in a pecan grove. This sounds like a great event. Hope you can go.
Sounds like a fun event. Our festivals/street fairs don't usually run past dusk. Enjoy!
Scott....it looks like Austin is a fun place.....reminds me of the North End in Boston and all of the Italian Festivals...
Festivals are just great for communities, especially if the music is good (and I can't imagine otherwise in Austin).
So are they "pee'cans" or "pecaans' "?

Scott I haven't been to Texas since the early 80's (Houston). And what I remember most is that Texas does everything big and I know this festival will be no different.
