Welcome to my Priority One series of blog entries. Each week on Active Rain I start my week on Sunday with a post about the Christian walk, or something from the Word of God that has been encouragement to me.
For some time now, I have been dealing with delays. Big delays. Repeated delays. Things that I have no control over. These delays are well beyond "inconvenience".
If it wasn't for trusting that God is who He says He is, and that He will do all He says He will do, I could easily give in to discouragement. In fact I could wallow in it!
But God IS a god who CANNOT LIE, and ALL of His promises are true.
And in spite of all I am doing to prevent and avoid the delays, or work my way out of them, I am ultimately sure that God has a purpose FOR ME in allowing them.
It is uncomfortable, this waiting.
But as I wait, the Lord continues to show me that He is more than enough. That I can handle a lot more than I ever believed of myself. That no matter what things look like, He will bring me through. And so I wait in EXPECTATION!
Expectation: the act or state of looking forward or anticipating; an attitude of (confident) hope.
I am aware that I really have no choice. I MUST be expecting God to work in my life and to do more than just depends on me. Something that only He alone can do. I am doing my part, and He will do His!
So today I wish you not just the peace of Christ in your hearts, but a holy expectation, that whatever you are facing right now, whatever you are going through, that God is enough; that He will meet you where you are, and He will bring you through it! He has promised to never leave us or forsake us (Hebrews 13:5-6), and as we follow Him, he has promised us that His blessing will be upon us (Deuteronomy 28:2-14).
Have a great Sunday, and join me as I put God first in everything...He is my Priority One!
Other verses on expectation: Jeremiah 17:7-8 Psalms 5:3 Habbakuk 2:3
Be Blessed!
