Today, i continued my "Blog Optimization" project by posting a very rich (Full of pictures and links) post on my "other" Blog - I am testing my lead flows by beginning to focus that site on "Consumer Related Real Estate issues and opportunities . . . and local market information. In theory, this will flow more quality traffic to our Group's main website www.theowengroup.net

One of the fun things about (recently) stepping out of my Real Estate Sales role and into a Coaching/Consulting role while also having a hand in our Real Estate Group The Owen Group is that I have the opportunity to test the things that I am coaching. This seems to be especially important in this market that is shifting and shaping differently each day.

I also had a few surprises from "Media Fall-out" . . . Apparently, there was a healthy dose of doom and gloom with respect to our industry reported in the morning talk shows. I personal avoid the mainstream media and resort to more authentic sources, and am therefore blindsided by client issues that relate DIRECTLY to the story of the day. We had a negotiation literally freeze in its tracks because the Buyer saw the morning show and thought that if he paid a penny more than his last offer, the world would end . . . this was after 3 days of active win-win negotiating . . . We were less than $10,000 apart in price . . . and may not reach final agreement after all.

I led a 2 hour session today about "AHAs" from my recent trip to Austin, TX for the Keller Williams Realty Mega Agent and technology camps. We had @ 20 associates who endured 2 hours of my spewing my notes out. At the end of the class, there were many positive comments about the primary message . . . The market conditions are ONLY relevant as being the environment in which our businesses operate . . . It is our POSITIVE mindset that drives our individual businesses . . . and that when the market shifts, there comes a natural shift of the market share distribution. The bottom line is consistent - If your business is lagging, there is really only ONE person responsible for the lag - YOU! This puts the accountability right where it belongs - In the hands of the ONLY person that can "Control" your business . . . and it clearly confirms that the "right ACTION" for success is simply that - ACTION - LEAD GENERATING in good times and bad . . . Staying "in your 20%" and securing preserving the most important asset in our business - our LEADS.

Remember, we can NOT motivate Buyers and Sellers - Instead, we must focus our attention and energy on FINDING motivated Buyers and Sellers. If you're out there working with unmotivated clients, the business becomes very difficult indeed.
