Today, I'm feeling thankful.  Not sure why.  The seasons are changing . . . and I love Summer, which is right around the corner.  Summer is growth and warmth and the sun . . . a positive time for me.

We don't have much of a summer here in the Portland Metro area / Pacific NW.  Summer starts late and there are some days in June when I actually contemplate turning the heater on.  Not this June . . . a sign we might not have a late start to summer this year??

For some reason, I started to reflect on my COMMUNITY of Active Rain.  How I enjoy the posts, and the topics, the conversation and camaraderie. 

Over the years that I've been reading about the deals that didn't work, or the ones that did, or the short sales that were anything but . . . 

Yes, as a real estate themed website, this is to be expected.

But, look at what else we've shared:

  • The birth of babies, and grand-babies . . .
  • The passing of our family, colleagues, beloved pets . . .
  • The health concerns of those we know and love . . .
  • The weddings . . .
  • The joy when we add a new beloved pet to our household . . .
  • The meet-ups, the vacations, stories about our families . . .

Yes, ACTIVE RAIN is a community -- of real people.  Real people, not just Realtors®.  We share and express our lives -- the good, the unhappy, the vents.  We get support and comfort.  We get pats on the back and encouragement.

With summer beginning in just a few days and then summer turning into a memory all too soon . . . for whatever reason, today I am thankful for my AR memories and to those that have shared theirs with me along the way.

This is a pretty awesome community isn't it Carla.  Amazing how we post our listings, market reports etc, but can still share real life with each other.  We are a type of family, sometimes dysfunctional but a family none-the-less :)!  

Ummm, we hit summer some time in winter lol :)!  It's TEXAS HOT :)!!
