Fall 2010 Restaurant Week is here!
Monday, September 19, is the start of six consecutive days of fine dining with over 180 of San Diego's best restaurants offering a three-course meal for either $20, $30, or $40 per person. You don't need any tickets or passes. You just need to enjoy fine food and fine dining. Reservations are not required but are encouraged because Restaurant Week is popular!
Restaurant week is held twice annually, in September and January. This is a great opportunity to get great food at great prices at restaurants that you normally might not be able to afford, such as the famous Marine Room in La Jolla where you can dine on the sand and, if you're luck, watch the waves crash against the windows just inches from where you're sitting. I've only been there once, for a very special occasion, and although the food and atmosphere were excellent, it's not a place that I can afford to go to on a weekly basis. I guess you know where I'm going to try to go during Restaurant Week!
Here are some of the other excellent restaurants that I can highly recommend:
333 Pacific in Oceanside
94th Aero Squardon in Kearny Mesa
Blue Point Coastal Cuisine in the Gaslamp Quarter
Bud's Louisiana Cafe, Tierrasanta
Gaslamp Strip Club in the Gaslamp Quarter and its sister La Jolla Strip Club in La Jolla
Indigo Grill in Little Italy
Island Prime on Harbor Island
Kemo Sabe in Hillcrest
Khan's Cave Grill in Clairemont Mesa
The Butcher Shop in Kearny Mesa
The Grant Grill, downtown San Diego
The Marine Room, La Jolla
The Melting Pot in the Gaslamp Quarter
The Prado in Balboa Park
For more information and a list of particpating restaurants, visit San Diego Restaurant Week. If your restaurant isn't listed, that doesn't mean they aren't participating, so call your favorite restaurant and ask them.
