Engaging Your Sphere ... BETTER!
I currently participate in a network marketing group. One of the tasks of that group is to schedule weekly meetings with the other members over time so that:
- you can get to know each other better
- learn about each others business through questions and answers
- establish common ground (experience or places or people)
- determine how you can refer each other business in the future
- and build a general repoir with one another
I like this approach because with everyone that I have met with I have almost immediately been able to refer them business.
BUT WHY DON"T I TAKE THIS MODEL INTO OTHER SPHERES OF MY LIFE?
I also meet with two different men's groups. Those groups for the most part remain at a very surface/superficial level. The other day while in one of those groups we talked about, "why don't we take our relationships to a deeper level." It can be done easily through scheduling one-on-one coffees or lunches.
EVEN FURTHER ...
What about my sphere of influence (SOI) for real estate. I need to identify those people that will refer me future business and take those relationships deeper or at the very least reconnect on a deeper level through regular contact.
The contact should be:
- meaningful - so that my SOI knows that effort has gone into it.
- intentional - not just casual or accidental.
- consistent - so that I don't just call when I need something.
- focused - ask for a referral at the end or durring the conversation in a way that demonstrates their importance to my life/family/business.
Just a few of my thoughts on why life is so segmented, and how to overcome those limiting beliefs.
