Yes, once again I've stolen a picture from my daughter's Facebook page. And this one really takes the cake. Her college (located in the Disney area, just over an hour from the Daytona Beach-Port Orange area) has Wi-Fi throughout the campus (supposedly so they can learn more).

Apparently, the general consensus is that this particular class is on the boring side. So during lectures, the kids all get on Skype. Of course they can't use their microphones during class, but they can turn on their web cams, and type into the chat portions. Oh, and they can take still shots too. (Evidence! lol)

The next time I hear her complain about her student loans, I think I'll just show her this picture :-P

Kenneth- She has a pretty good scholarship, but she's attending a bible college (the class was "apolagetics"). I've spent some time with her at school, so I already know the general consensus among the kids is that that particular class is extremely boring. Sooo... lol

Gary- Tell me about it! I'd get a lot less detentions if I was in school now! he he

Russell- My daughter and I have always been very close. And SHE is more secure in herself than you would ever believe possible. She couldn't care less about these blogs. When I try to show her, I can barely even get her to see what I've written. AND, I constantly get friend invites from HER friends too! So I can follow the conversations all the way around. However, I have been scolded for jumping into the conversations. I can look. And I can talk one-on-one with any of her friends. But the kids don't like the way WE (here's a weird generation-gap issue) hijack a conversation and just talk amongst ourselves. She thinks thats rude. Go figure!

Tere- It's a live class. She's in her junior year of bible college. And during class, the kids logged into Skype and were typing in the chat boxes instead of talking into the built-in mic's. Her computer has built-in web cam, which can also take screen shots. This is a screen shot she took during class, then posted on her FB wall. So I stole it >=)

It's amazing how fluid communication is now days...especially among young folks. There is really no way to monitor or control it. We can only hope that they become responsible about how to make good use of it.

John- I never took school very seriously. My daughter is actually the opposite. Needless to say, I find this type of thing amusing. I get to live vicariously through her. Woo Hoo! lol

Lisa - It's a brave new world and the kids have it nailed down. I'm pretty computer savvy but these kids multi task to the xtreme :-) I think it's great that your daughter trusts you to view her posts and comment! My daughter is the same.

John- She's my only child. And has always been one of my best friends. Last weekend, she came home for the weekend, and I was in bed with my laptop, just fiddling around on Facebook. She put her stuff in her room, then came and climbed into bed with me. She then moved my pillow, lifted my arm, and placed it around herself. LOL!

My husband came into the room a little while later, ready to go to sleep; he took one look at us, and turned around and went back to the couch. LOL! We were that way for about 2 hours. :-D
