Hello, my name is Lynn Koerner and I was invited to this group a few weeks ago, but was not able to introduce myself until now. Teenagers have run my summer and now that they are back in school, I will have some time to catch up on everything.
I appreciate the value of this group. I am an Interior Desginer & Home Staging Consultant. I keep up with Stage It Forward on Active Rain, but I have often felt a need to address specific issues in our area, which is very unique to the rest of the country.
I started my Home Staging business in the spring by participating in the Akron Home & Flower Show. I spend my Sunday's going to open houses to meet realtors and tour homes in Solon, Aurora and Hudson. Staging is still a fairly new concept in NE Ohio. People have heard about it, but not many feel the need to use it, which is sad. Every week I meet realtors who are frustrated with home owners who don't take their advice. Or they want to give the homeowner some advice over an obvious but perhaps sensitive issue, but are afraid to do so. Every week I see simple, low cost changes that could be made in a home to make it more appealing.
I would like to know if any of you are familiar with Home Staging,have used a Stager before, how was the experience and did it help? Or, what prevents you from using a Stager? Not sure how to present the idea to the homeowner? Cost? I'd really like to know.
I will be very eager to get your input on these questions raised!
