The "story" of President Obama's aunt * the VICTIM * points out ALL that is BROKEN in our immigration system.

She came to this country * presumably on a plane * and was only going to stay a short time.

She got deathly ill * got FREE health care * was hospitalized and recovered.

Then she was BROKE and could not leave * I guess raising her hand to the nearest ICE dept did not occur to her.

She lived in a homeless shelter BEFORE she got public housing AHEAD of thousands of LEGAL residents.

In 2005 she attended Obama's swearing in as the junior senator from Illinois AND in 2008 she attended his presidential inauguration.

After an immigration hearing earlier this year, she is NOW living in public housing, receiving approx $700 per month and is a LEGAL resident.

She says her nephew did not influence her status or the immigration judge.  She says she is a VICTIM because of the actions of "others" to keep her in the US.

CRIME DOES PAY!!!!

Everything that is wrong with our country, be it financial or political, can be found in your post.  What I didn't read in here is how many years it took for her to go from visitor to victim to victimizing the US taxpayer.  I would agree with you that at any point during the probably 10+ years that she's been here illegally she could have raised her hand to a different government department.  I guarantee you it is the same way with every other Illegal in America...  they're here because they're hoping amnesty will be granted before they get caught.  When will our government realize we cannot support our own poor, and every other countries, on the taxes of so few.  This is about good financial common sense. Great post.

Wallace...I was thining the same way when I read this story.  You beat me to the post, so I will just say thinks for pushing the story.  It is a crime.   They knew she was her and illegal and she was able to stay and cost o\us a bundle. 

It is funny that nothing was said by this administration about this aunt.

Notice that Obama doesn't seem to feel that he should do anything financially to support someone in his own family? No wonder he thinks it should be up to the government... he doesn't want to take responsibility for his own family. 

If this were a conservative businessman running for office, and his Aunt was on the dole, there would be an outcry about how the millionaire businessman is too greedy to help out his own family member.

We need to face reality. In the U S we have unwritten class systems now. If you're in the "elite class" you can get by with almost anything, and help your cronies do the same.
