Fallingwater is a home designed by American Architect Frank Lloyd Wright in 1934. Located in rural Pennsylvania, this home was named one of the 28 places “to visit before it’s too late,” by Smithsonian Magazine. Wright's interest in constructing Fallingwater was to build a home in-tune with its natural surroundings. To accomplish that, the home was built from locally quarried stone arranged like a natural rock formation over a natural waterfall that can be heard throughout. Fallingwater was a private residence from 1937 to 1963, when it was donated to the Western Pennsylvania Conservancy. In 1964 it was reopened as a museum. It currently hosts over 120,000 visitors per year.
