A quick Technology Tip - SEO Ranking for your Real Estate Site

As many of you already know, when you Google yourself, many of you if you have an ActiveRain account, it shows up pretty high up on the search engines.  Well, there's a reason for that.  ActiveRain is an "authority site" which means Google sees it as a site with real content, content that is relative to the subject you are searching for.

So, since there is such a commuity of real estate experts here, if you Google your name and the words real estate, usually it comes up on the first page.  Try Googling yourself.  We've all done it.

If you're not the top 5 rankings when you type in your name and real estate or realtor, here is a quick tip to get fast Search Engine Optimization (SEO)...

1) Create another Blog Page that you will add to your Self Promo Site (your real estate site)

You can go to places like Wordpress or Blogger.  There are many out there but if you use Blogger Google will like it, why? Because Googel owns Blogger.  So, create a simple Blog about your real estate location, the area, the homes that are selling, not selling, short sales in the area, stats for the area, whatever.

Then link it to your main real estate site.

2) Use that same link to link to your Youtube account if you already have one, if not, create one.

Go to Youtube and do the same thing.  Create a simple Youtube Channel where you talk about the current market conditions in your specific area.  Inside the videos, tell your viewers to leave good comments, and go to your Blog Link.

3) Next, cross link your Facebook, Youtube and Blogger sites.  Make sure to link inside your site as well.  What I mean is, let's say you create a video talking about the market conditions and the rates.  You link them to your mortgage page within your real estate site, not your home page.  Link it to the most relevant subject within your own site.  Google likes this much more than if you simply link it to your home page.

They want you to link to the most relevant page on your site, not just the About Me page.

So, by doing just these simple little things, Google will see that there are now (2) two or (3) other Authority Sites that is linking back to your ActiveRain site, and the ActiveRain site linking back to the other 2 or 3 Authority Sites thus, giving you a much higher relevant score and thus ranking you higher on the list.

Next, you will want to tweak your links and make sure not to go overboard.  Have internal links as well...

I will talk more about those later...

Hope this helps.

Great ideas Phuong. I set up my profile on some social and real estate networking sites a while back. Now when I google my name, I show up on the first 4-5 pages. I am sure some potential clients Google the REALTORs before they decide who to allow to represent them. I definitely want them to be able to find me. Thank you for sharing

Awesome information. I just started with Google Boost Ads. This is a pay per click program that puts you right at the top of the search engine. I like your ideas though...because they are free!! Thanks for the post.
