The government of Quintana Roo has just announced that the first phase of bidding for the construction of the new Tulum International airport (Riviera Maya airport) has been completed. 19 competitors started the bidding process, and as of now, only 10 have survived this first phase of bidding for the 5 billion pesos project.
8 of the 10 surviving developers that will continue on to the next phase of bidding are:
Ideal owned by Carlos Slim
Grupo Mexico owned by German Larrea
Omega owned by Andres Holzer
Grupo Aeroportuario Centro Norte owned by Victor Bravo
Grupo Aeroportuario del Pacifico
Boston Infrastructure Investment
TAV Airports Company
MK Energy Infrastructure
It's been previously reported that the bidding process will be complete by the end of this year. Another step forward for the much anticipated Tulum airport.
