NATIONAL NIGHT OUT 2010 ~ THE WOODLANDS, TX.  On Saturday, October 2 from 1-5 p.m. at Northshore Park in The Woodlands, TX residents along with local law enforcement agencies will celebrate the National Night Out.

This is a great event for families to come out and see the Mounted Patrol, talk to officers and other safety related professionals.  The kids will enjoy seeing the squad cars, the horses and the fire engines.

The event is free and additional parking will be provide at Hewitt Associates which is just a short distance away from the park.

On Tuesday, October 5, residents are encouraged to gather between 5:30 and 8 p.m. on their street or in a nearby park.  The sole purpose of gathering together as a neighborhood is to get to know your neighbors and be able to watch our for one another.  Preventing crime can be as simple as being vigilant in our own neighborhoods.

I'm fortunate enough to have great neighbors, and we look out for each other quite a bit. National Night Out is a very good idea

We live in a great area too.  This is such a great program to get people out to meet their neighbors.  In the old days everyone made time to get to know one another.  Today with our busy lives and such, people just don't know one another as well in their own neighborhoods.
