Wow, what a history for this neighborhood park. The house on the original parcel for this property is the oldest in Livermore, built in 1848 for those who herded cattle and rode the range. Prior to that the land was originally a pasture for Mission San Jose, until it became public in 1835. On weekends, families can be seen picnicking and enjoying the tot lot play area.
7.9 acres in size, this park is bordered by Olivina Ave. on the North and Daisyfield Dr. on the South. The park is nestled between the Summerset , Willowbrook and Murrieta Meadow’s developments, but also serves the Garden Commons, Monticello and Tanager Square neighborhoods. Most days, you’ll find families enjoying the picnic tables and barbeque facilities, walking their dogs or entertaining their children on the tot-lot. Come Saturday and Sunday though, local soccer teams will be out if force, with parents and kids alike filling the fields.
