FRESH AIR, A SWING SET & FREEDOM!

I love it! The other day I went to a restaurant waiting for our sales team to join me.. and waited, and waited.  After 15 minutes, I learned I was at the wrong restaurant.  But, I had already engaged in conversation with a gentleman and a networking opportunity was in front of me.

The convesation was so interesting to me that despite the rain, we sat outside, enjoying our cocktail, intrigued with our mutual paths.  For a few seconds I stopped, considered the nest that must sit atop of my head, and thought... does it really matter? I enjoyed the innocence of sitting in the rain... and it brought me back to my childhood.

I will join you in stepping outside of today and wander back a few years... how? I don't know, but the moment will come and I will let 'er rip!

What a great picture.   I have often said that the internet has taken away are whimsy.  My kids did not play hopscotch, jacks, jump rope or swing that much...perhaps I'll have another chance to introduce those things with grandkids!

When our kids were growing up, we lived on a one acre property that had great views that were relaxing to enjoy. We had a couple of horses that were fun to ride, and teach the kids to care for. One had a colt and that was great fun working with him.

We had a huge oak tree with a large horizontal limb so I tied a thick rope around the limb, took a large truck tire and made a swing. The swing faced the view of Mt.Diablo in Danville, CA. One of my daughters would sit in that swing for long periods of time enjoying the swinging and the relaxing view.

I have to go find one!  I remember doing this as a kid & bailing out as you say.  Now the kids even have soft surfaces with wood chips to crash on. 

Hold on tight Paula.  And I bet you were one of those kids who looped the set... g

I'm up for it again, my dad made me a bag swing in our backyard.  You probably know thats the burlap sack tied with a rope to the tree.  We would pull it over with us and stand on the fence and them jump and swing on that bag swing.  gave me lots of practice so I was ready for the swing at summer camp near the river!  Swinging over and jumping into water is the best!

Kids.  Gotta love the little daredevils.  Evil Knievels live on in our kids and grandkids.

Oh to be young again just for one day. Have my papa saddle my horse and ride all day.....and not be sore the next.

What complete joy that picture is!  I remember being that free.  You're right, I need to go find a swing, RIGHT NOW!

i just took my daughter swinging on monday.  Wow, what a great invention.  we all should ride a swing some times.  aka take a break
