Site for Museum of Art to Be Festival Park
Yesterday a decision was made to go ahead with construction of the Museum of Art on the Festival Park site. Absent were the voices of Fayetteville NC citizens. After the huge showing of people at last years Dogwood Festival hosting Hootie and The Blowfish many people are concerned that the Museum of Art will limit the space that was occupied by Hootie's audience. Too bad, I guess, because the decision has been made. It reminds me of my father's response when I so often questioned his orders as a child, "because I told you so, that's why" he would say. I guess we all just got "told so"
Not so Fast Goodyear - Looks like the investments planned for the Goodyear plant in Fayetteville NC are not so certain. The NC General Assembly approved a plan to provide $40 million in incentives to Goodyear for making the investments, but Govenor Easley is seriously considering a veto. If the plan goes ahead Goodyear is required to, rightly so, pony up an additional $200 million in upgrades...., We'll see.
