What are the most important design features you are looking for in your new home?

  • Lifetime Design
  • Sustainable (Green) Design
  • Not So Big House Design
  • Passive Solar Design
  • None above

I asked the above question to the readers of my Weblog. To see the polls or to vote go to. www.imagedesignllc.blogspot.com

I will continually be adding different polls to this Weblog. These polls help me understand what you as home owners find important and want in your new homes. If you have any ideas for future polls that have to do with Residential Design please let me know.

thanks for that post! Down here in Florida we would probably want to add 'upgraded wind mitigation features'  because of those storms that we can get - you know the ones.... the 'h' word -

Looks like Green Building followed by the Not so Big House philosophies are the most important to people looking to have a new home designed based on my poll so far.

Just checked out your results looks like these things are all important with green being number 1. Great idea on getting the public perspective.

Eric,

The voting is pretty tight, although the sustainable design is slightly ahead. It's good news for green building advocates that the public is warming to the idea of being environmentally responsible home buyers.

Need one more vote in my poll to get 100 responses!! Any one want to vote to help decide what is the most poplar design feature for a new designed home.

Esko thanks for your response. I think in 2008 green building will become a main choice of home buyers in the new construction markets.

This is a great idea.  I think it is good to do a poll to get a handle on what consumers are looking for.  I'll have to check this one out,

Joan, I use the poll to understand what consumers like and what they are looking for in a new home. This helps me in marketing my business to the consumers. If you or anyone else have any good ideas for a poll please let me know.

Chris here are the poll results you requested that I show. In October and November we polled our blog reader on "What are the most important design features they were looking for in a new home". And the following were the results of our poll.

  • Lifetime Design 43%
  • Sustainable (Green) Design 58%
  • Not So Big House Design 49%
  • Passive Solar Design 45%
  • None of the above 6%

I want to thank everyone that took part in the poll we had over 100 responses, it will help us in our marketing research. I believe that all of the features above should be standard on all new homes! If you would like to find out more about any of the above features please email me or call. Also please check out the new poll on "What your favorite home style".
