Sellers- have you noticed that your Buyers are Courtesy Peekers???
You know what I mean... they walk through your home and PEEK into each room. They're in and out of your house in about 10 minutes. I call these Courtesy Peekers.
Courtesy Peekers have a scheduled appointment to see your house. They enter and something tells them it isn't what they want. But out of courtesy to you the Seller and their Realtor who has taken their time to show them the house they take a quick tour of the house... only PEEKING in each room.
If a Buyer is Peeking into a room and not going into it.... in all likelihood they are not interested and will not consider it for their "Must see again" list.
What Can You Do to Thwart Courtesy Peekers?
1. Pick a Focal Point for each room and use it to draw in your Buyer! Whether it's the view, a beautiful fireplace, or a cozy sitting area, use that to bring your Buyer into the room.
2. Add light! Don't leave your Buyers in the dark. Add lamps to a table of desk, or invest in a floor lamp if you have to so that a Buyer will be able to see what is in the room.
3. Let the Light In! Clean your windows and make sure the drapes, blinds or shades are open when your house is being shown. This is especially important for those rainy or cloudy days. You want your Buyers to come into the room.
4. Don't Put up Road Blocks in Your Room! If you have a cluttered room or if your furniture while functional for you is acting like a road block to your Buyer, move it or pack it up!
Don't let your Buyer become a Courtesy Peeker!!
