Speechless Sunday In NW Indiana - Waking Up to Deer in Your Own Backyard!
Jeff and Grace, Deer are a beautiful sight. Do you feed them or is that water in that white basket?
Gloria
I absolutely love this picture. My husband came from his garden today complaining that the deer ate all the leaves in his sweet potatoes. He is still trying to figure out how to keep them at bay.
Jeff & Grace, Very nice …. I could sit and watch them for hours. Like Gloria, I’m curious what the one deer is eating or drinking out of.
Hello Doug & Gloria - we put a salt block out for them and this planter had some corn feed, plus they drink out of our bird baths:)
Tere - yes they are vegetarians and love gardens (we do not have a garden :)
Kathleen - they don't stay long - they frighten easily - can hear very well, once buddy our dog spots them when looking out the window it's over- one bark and they run!.
appreciate you all taking time to stop by and comment.
sincerely,
grace
Grace We do not get that many even though we live in the woods - our score is 1 or 2
Hi karen, we usually see only 1 or 2 - that's why we took this photo - this is alot!
hi Cindy, yes they are beautiful to watch!
thanks to you both for taking time to stop by and comment
sincerely,
grace
They are beautiful! Looks like you have a doe and some older fawns...
We are surrounded by woods where we are but there is a lot of open space between us
and the woods and I have never seen any. I don't know if we put feed out for them if
we would have any come around to find it....
Enjoy the nature you have around you:)
Hi Brenda - lol the irony is that we have not seen them back since th day we took this last week! glad we were blessed to capture the moment!
yes Tom they are peaceful indeed.
thanks to you both for taking time to stop by and comment.
sincerely,
grace
I was doing a trashout in Elk River last year and happened to look out the sliding glass door to the backyard on my way to the garage and saw what at first I thought were deer decoys. But, there were five live deer right there in the backyard. I wished I had a camera. I just had to stop and watch them for five or ten minutes. It was so peaceful and gracious of them to stop by to give me a look at them.
Thanks....for your pictures and stopping by.
you are welcome Ron- the deer are gone lately - all we have is this preious moment in photo!
