~ The top three cities in America for young professionals ~

Forbes did a recent study to find the best cities for young professionals to find employment in America.  The survey was based on several criteria; including a population of over 1,000,000, showing a positive potential future economic growth, affordability, good job prospects, larger than average incomes, home to the country's bigger companies and where recent graduates of large universities were living.

This is the 4th annual list for the top cities for America's young professionals.  This is a tough economy for anyone to find a job no matter what age.  With the average national unemployment rate over 9%, any help is a bonus.

The top three cities for a college grad to get a great start on a career were:

Houston, Texas

Congrats to those 3 cities indeed !  3 great cities !  It is tough out there but still opportunties exist !   And for those college grads, do not give up hope !  Keep your head up and keep the job search up.  Microsoft was started in a recession : )

Wow, I would not have expected Minneapolis. My son loves it there as he is a playwright and it is a huge theater town.

Marcy and Dawn, Minneapolis is a great place for young professionals.  We have an excellent park system, thriving economy thanks to General Mills, Medtronic, and many insurers.  The theater is excellent, Walker Art Museum and a great night life in Uptown, Downtown and St. Paul, too.  Great sports teams, too.  Football, baseball, basketball and hockey.

And, thanks to the Northstar Rail Line, the people who live in my neck of the woods can enjoy all this AND get to the airport without driving and paying for parking.   Oh, great is that?

Dawn.....Minneapolis was a bit of a surprise to me.  Although I don't know about their employment base there, it's still surprising.
