We just chopped down all of our old apple trees this year.  They were terrible tasting fruit and just a major mess and pain to deal with.  We replaced them with other trees, apple and plum, now we just need to wait 10 years.....

Wanda.. I love apple picking.. you can't get them any fresher. LOL.  Sorry to say I did NOT eat one apple along the way.  Try THREE.

Kenneth.. My favorite is the Cortland Apple.  It is good enough to just eat and it bakes well too.

Valerie, back before they built the second golf course there, there were a couple of fairways that went near to some of the trees. It was always a bit of a refresh break to take a turn and get a fresh snack.

Hi Valerie,

My neighbors have got the most wonderful pear tree. They gave us a whole bunch of them and I cooked a pear crumble.  My first attempt at that and think it worked out very well if i may say so myself!! :)

Great shot!  I love love love this time of year...I was in Door County yesterday with my parents, hubby and we went to couple of honey crisp apple orchards.  Yummo!

Steve.. I've never heard of a pear crumble.  It sounds good to me.  You couldn't have had fresher ingredients to work with.
