The Brecksville Reservation of the Cleveland Metroparks is regarded as one of the best local park systems in the country.

From The Brecksville Stables which provides horseback riding lessons, pony camps, therapeutic riding and more, along with trails throughout the Brecksville Reservation is quite an amenity for a suburban community.
There are many all purpose hiking, biking, jogging and walking trails throughout the reservation, along with a nature center staffed by knowledgeable individuals who are there to provide seminars, education and various events -- my family and I went on a night excursion to communicate and listen to owls, which was a fascinating event to say the least.

I love to hike and bike in the Brecksville Reservation as all as the nearby Cuyahoga Valley National Park.

To be ever so close (15 miles to downtown Cleveland) yet be in the midst of total green space is the best of both worlds.

These were just a few photos I happened to snap when I was traveling through the park system one day last week.

Here is a companion post with some other photos taken this past week of some downtown Brecksville scenes.

I also stopped by the Brecksville City Hall area and snapped a few photos of the baseball diamonds and tennis court areas.

I snapped a few photos of the Brecksville Community Center complex and playground area as well.

An area's level of living is so upgraded by having trees, green space, and vegetation within its' midst.  I think that municipalities that realize this and take action to secure and protect these areas within their borders do their residents such a huge favor.  Glad to see that you were taking advantage of the beautiful areas close to your home.  I'm sure in fall they will be amazing ...

Gorgeous Chris.  Makes me homesick---I am originally from Ohio.  I don't remember the Brecksville Reservation---I actually grew up in Columbus.  Looks like you had more rain than we did here in Indiana.  Everything is so lush and green.  I will hope to be able to visit someday!!

Brecksville Reservation looks like such an enjoyable area. Those hiking trails probably get used a lot.  I would be there using them if I lived in the area.
