RACE FOR THE CURE OCTOBER 2, 2010 ~ HOUSTON, TX. The 20th Annual Susan G. Komen Race for Cure is this coming Saturday on Octobver 2nd. Once again, thousands of runners and walkers will meet in downtown Houston to participate in this wonderful event.
I have been running in this event for many years and will be proud to be there again this coming Saturday! Although I am not a survivor of breast cancer, I am a spinal cord tumor and lung tumor survivor. I also have many friends who are currently battling breast cancer.
I hope to see many of you out there again this year for this worthy cause. There is so much energy and enthusiasm and there are tons of things to do before and after the race! Here is the schedule!
6:00 to 7:30am - Race Day Walk-in Registration
7:45am - Opening Ceremonies and Memorial Birds Release
8:00am - Family Walk/Kids K sponsored by ConocoPhillips Company
8:20am - 5K Timed Competitive Run sponsored by Academy Sports + Outdoors
8:30am - 5K Non-Competitive Run
8:35am - 5K Walk
9:15am - Runners Award Ceremony
10:00am - Survivor Celebration sponsored by Baker Hughes Incorporated
