Did you go to the 1st Italian Festival in Marion, Ar.?
I was so looking forward to the 1st Italian Festival in Marion, Ar. ever since I wrote
1st Annual Italian Festival in Marion, Ar. to benefit Families in Transition on September 25, 2010 and finally the day came! I went there at 11:30, time for lunch, and I was not disappointed. If you missed it , you have missed some good Italian home cooked goodies.
Home made Italian spaghetti sauce over meatball spaghetti, only $3!!! They gave you a lot and my daughters had to wrap the rest up and took it home to eat later that day.
The fried bread you saw on the plate was from another Italian family. They made their own dough, and fried them when you ordered them. It was so fluffy, only $1.
The weather was warm and it was pretty nice to walk around. Little kids were doing face painting, and it was so cute.
It was a small scaled festival held for the first time. But it was a very friendly and fun festival to spend some time on a Saturday morning to afternoon. I ate my lunch there and bought a thing or two, and it was 2 hours already. Time really flies when you are having fun and relaxing.
I also met the lady who sent me the email If you don't think anyone is reading your blogs, think again! It was her family who made the home made Italian fried bread! Look at the home made dough that the lady on the right who has her hand on, that's Joni! She was the one who sent me the email, she found my blog when Googling for the Italian Festival. I am glad she got the spot with grass around it. They also made home made lasagna, but it was all sold out when I got there. The Angeletti family is very good at cooking, that's for sure. I also bought their home made chocolate biscotti, yummy!
I guess I have to go there early next year if I want to catch their lasagna!!
Hope to see you there next year!
