I read recently that Sierra Nevada Torpedo Extra IPA ($10 for a six pack) was an environmentally friendly beer.  The company is an innovator in sustainable business practices.  The brewery is now solar-powered as well!  The pale aile plays up slightly bitter and super-floral American hops.  Try it!

I just poured myself a big glass of Sierra Nevada Torpedo Extra! OK, not really. It's too early for beer. But I'm going to look for it next time I'm in the store....

Sharon, you aren't dumb!  IPA is Indian Pale Ale...actually, I don't like most IPAs!

Tom, I haven't had it yet, but will soon!

Kristin, I've got to agree with you, I don't like many IPAs but I'll have to check this one out.  Here in Lewiston, Maine we have several breweries, one of which, Baxter Brewing Co., is one of the first micro-breweries to use environmentally friendly cans for their tasty beers.  Not only are cans better for the environment as they're easier to recycle (here in Maine we have a mandatory 5 cent redemption on all non-dairy beverages), keep the beer uncorrupted by UV light, and can go where glass containers can not.  I'm glad to see the push for greener products in micro-breweries on both coasts!
