New Realtor.com "FREE" Blogs - Already Setup to Charge You!

Immediately after you sign up for a free blog you get an invoice for $0. It may seem cute at first, but it's obvious, this will be a pay for service to the tune of monthly fees in the near future. I'll be using it until then.

Don't hate me because I repost (on Realtor.com). ;)

Hi Josh...I am right there with you. I would not assume that it will be a fee-for-service in the future, and not because I am erring on the side of Realtor.com, but because there are SO MANY free blogging portals, including AR. If they go for a charge, the numbers would plummet. I think it will be a part of your NAR fees in the long run....hope I am right on this one!

It's certainly a weird way of welcoming you. "Oh and by the way here's your bill, we've waived the fee this time." Maybe they will open it up for others to "buy" into the postings or charge for "featured" bloggers.

Time will tell.

I'm with Chris on this one. It would be just stupid to start charging for something that is free everywhere else. Also to continue your thought of reposting on Realtor.com... don't repost the same stuff in the same order, mix it up. What i like to do is sit down during a slow sunday open house or on a quiet weekend night and write out and plan my blogs for the next week. The one you post on monday on AR you might post on friday on the NAR blog. just an idea ;-)

It could just as well be because the billing processes at Realtor.com are a very confused and irregular lot. Either way, that's pretty weird, and I guess we'll just have to wait and see.
