The Torpedo Factory Art Center in OLD TOWN ALEXANDRIA will again host the Annual ALEXANDRIA ARTS SAFARI, which offers hands-on arts and crafts activities for kids and their families.
Do your kids like playing with Play-Doh? Well, then they'll just love the Clay Experience or perhaps Potter's Art, where they will learn to identify 19th century Alexandria potters from the designs applied to stoneware pottery and create their own drawing. Now, really, how cool is that? Heck, I would enjoy that!
Have a juvenile drama queen or a budding performance artist in your household? Then I bet they will just love dressing up in 18th century clothes and explore hands-on history objects. They can do that at the Arts Safari.
Or perhaps your little ones enjoying coloring books? Arts Safari Painting may be just for them!
Maybe they would prefer the fun of learning how to make a Fabric Collage or a Treasure Box. Of, if they are really brave, they can tackle Giant Papier Mache Animals.
An added attraction this year features a fun Halloween Bats activity, sure to get everyone into the Halloween spirit.
And, once again, The Art League will present their always popular Gallery Scavenger Hunt
Parents, while this is an event for children kindergarten age and above, you'll need to be there to supervise. Children don't need to bring anything but their imaginations! (Oh, and be sure they're dressed in clothing that can handle getting a little dirty).
