Chinese buyers in Hawaii?

I just came across this article from the New York Times "Asians See Value in High-End Hawaiian Homes".

It was very interesting because I always knew Hawaii was very popular with Japanese but until recently have not heard much about popularity with buyers from China.

"As evidence of the trend, agents referred to the recent sale of a $3.85 million home in the gated Honolulu community of Hawaii Loa Ridge to a mainland Chinese buyer. In May, a Chinese investor closed on a $7.8 million oceanfront property in Hawaii Kai and another paid $6.8 million for a Kailua beachfront property adjacent to the vacation rental where President Barack Obama and his family have stayed during vacations in Hawaii."

The image below is a beautiful Hawaiin property listed by one of our client's on Caimeiju.com

Georgina,

Thanks for the comment. Our president will actually be there next week talking with a few offices on the Wailea side. Otherwise he will probably be spending his time at Hookipa or eating at Charlie's :)

Jennifer - please tell your president to stop into our Jim Sanders Realty office in Paia. We are right across the street from Charleys, and we even have an agent who speaks Chinese!  His name is Mark.  We would be happy to make the connection!  Don't forget that the north shore has some very desirable properties also.
