Good People - Tough Situations

By

I was reminded today about the many good good people in such dire circumstances due to current market conditions.  I was reminded of how many of these people who are in foreclosure are honorable, upright, just plain good people.  I understand that many made bad choices that led them to where they are. I also know a lot of good people whose job was cut and they were put out into a jobless market to try to find something else to do. I also know of some excellent builders and developers that went out of business because the people who lost their jobs can't buy a new home.

I've had opportunities to speak with many of these good people who are "losing everything". I remind them to not let this define who they are. They can continue to be honorable in the most difficult circumstances. In fact, I remind them to hold dear to what matters most - their faith, family & friends.  The bankers who have the upper hand would do well to remember that things won't always be this way. They can act with honor and respect in their treatment of these good people.

I have been praying for the families whose names and their home addresses that I see in the local paper announcing foreclosure. These are some good people. I'm not oblivious to the "snakes" or people who behaved badly. Some people deserve to be where they are, but I don't think that statement represents the majority. Let's be respectful, sensitive, hopeful and prayerful for these good people is really tough situations.

Pressing On!

Nice post.  Very true.  So many good people are in bad situations.  I am surrounded by people in financial distress everyday.
