Bike Riders in Calhoun County will love the Buckhorn Subdivision!

Bike riders of any level will enjoy all that the new Buckhorn Subdivision has to offer. The Buckhorn Subdivision was started in 2006 by Gary Angel with Calhoun Development Co Inc.

He had a vision to create a family friendly environment with amenities that everyone could enjoy. The Subdivision is located in Weaver, Alabama just minutes from both Jacksonville and Anniston. It is walking distance from the Ladiga Trail. The Chief Ladiga Trail is Alabama's first rails-to-trails project. The 33-mile trail stretches from the Alabama-Georgia state line to Anniston. The Chief Ladiga is on the same rail corridor as the Silver Comet Trail in Georgia. The two are expected to be joined after the Cleburne County section is completed. When the Chief Ladiga and the Silver Comet trails are connected there will be a 90-mile corridor available for non-motorized travel from just west of Atlanta, Georgia to Anniston, Alabama.

The trail is great for bike riders of all skill levels from those training for a century ride to families out for a day of fun.

Buckhorn also features a spring fed lake with a sidewalk around it. Mom or Dad can walk or stroll a baby while big brother or sister gets used to biking around the lake. Miles of walking trails will be completed in the coming months and will be available for bike riders as well. The walking trails will ultimately end up connecting with the Ladiga Trail. This should be completed as early at 2011. The trails will also pass by the ball field (under construction). This will be a great place for bike riding kids or adults who are young at heart to stop off for a game of baseball or basketball.

Whether you ride a bike or not, you have got to see all that Buckhorn has to offer.  Visit the Buckhorn Subdivision website for photos, maps, and pricing information.

Hi Amy Angel...good to see you here on ActiveRain.

I'm Joye Hollis Ridgeway, from Charleston, SC.  I grew up in Jacksonville, and probably know of your parents.  Actually, I think your grand dad built my parents house in 1971.

Small world....I love ActiveRain.

What part of Calhoun county is Buckhorn ?

Good luck selling !
