There are plenty of fun things to do while in Albuquerque for Balloon
Fiesta. But first, here's a little info about the big event-
Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta Information
This year's balloon fiesta
includes
Three Mass
Acensions,
Five
Fireworks Presentations, a
Special
Shapes Glowdeo
and much much more! Here's a full
schedule of Balloon Fiesta events so you can plan
to attend your favorites. Driving to the fiesta can be more trouble
than it's worth, you might consider taking the
Balloon Fiesta Park-N-Ride. You can
buy balloon fiesta tickets online for the Park and
Ride, as well as general admission tickets and even Balloon Fiesta
Merchandise.
Placitas Home Tour
The 2010 Placitas Home Tour runs both weekends of Balloon Fiesta,
October 2nd-3rd and 9th-10th from 10:00am to 5:00pm. 6
Placitas Luxury Homes will be open for viewing.
Placitas
NM Homes
are located in a beautiful setting near the Sandia Mountains just north
of Albuquerque. The Village of Placitas is located an easy to navigate
24 minute drive from balloon fiesta park.
Albuquerque Parade of Homes
The
2010
Homes of Enchantment Parade happens October 9th and 10th, the final
weekend of Balloon Fiesta. Attend a balloon event in the morning, then
check out some of the finest
Albuquerque
Metro Area real estate in the afternoon. This year's Albuquerque
parade of homes features 31 homes throughout the metro area including
homes
in Rio Rancho and Corrales to
homes near Sandia Park in Albuquerque's East
Mountains.
Albuquerque Greek Festival
The Greek Festival is happening October first, second and third at St
George Greek Orthodox Church just east of Downtown Albuquerque. There's
food and drink, entertainment and wonderful homemade desserts to eat
there or take home. Last year the Greek Festival was jam
packed on Friday and Saturday night. If you prefer quieter
times you might want to attend during the afternoon. Hours are from
11am to 10pm on Friday and Saturday, and noon to 5pm on Sunday.
Other Fun Places to Hang in Albuquerque
El Pinto Restaurant is a favorite for Albuquerque
natives and balloon enthusiasts alike. The food is good and the
atmosphere is unmistakenly New Mexico. Sit outside on the patio if you
can. More off-the-beaten-track places to eat and get your dose of New
Mexico Green or Red Chili include the Historic
Casa Vieja Restaurant in Corrales or if you prefer
more of a hole-in-the wall kind of place you might like
Padillas Mexican Kitchen near the University of
New Mexico. If you are staying on the westside try Albuquerque's best
upscale Asian Cuisine at
Chow's Asian Bistro or for good Italian fare visit
Nicky V's Neighborhood Pizzeria, both on
Albuquerque's westside. For a good local brew try
Turtle
Mountain in Rio Rancho,
Chama River
Brewing Company near Balloon Fiesta Park or
Marble Brewery
near downtown Albuquerque.
Enjoy the Balloon Fiesta!
Welcome to the Land of Enchantment! Have fun at the balloon events and
enjoy some of the other fun things to do in Albuquerque!
