Many people are surprised at the extent of "Chadds Ford, " PA - an area known for revolutionary battlefields, the art of the Wyeth family and many othes. It spands the Brandywine River, more a creek, and includes two counties, Chester and Delaware. Its schools rank among the top in the state. It's location, 45 miunte utside Center City Philadelphia and 20 minutes or less from Wilmington, Delware, make it ideal for many families. Just north is Chester County seat, West Chester, and to the east, Delware County seat Media.
Route 52 which runs from Route 1 all the way into the heart of Wilmington is a scenic road, populated by museums such as Winterthur and the Delaware Museum of Natural History and duPont family estates, and the infamous Buckley's Tavern.
There are a few newer developments, such as Balmoral, Green Meadows, Ashley, Carlton North and South, and Millbrook.
