Winter starts in our house on October 1st.  I changed the curtains from sheers to damask with lining.  I changed the rugs from straw or cotton to wool.  I moved all the deck furniture and plants that enjoyed summer sun and waning autumn days without a frost to indoors to make it to another spring.

It is sad to see the end of the barefoot days of summer, and to with regret put the shorts and tank tops back in their plastic liners along with the flip-flops and open-toed heels.

Red moves to burgundy, lime green to dark forest green.  Such are the colors of nature, and so we take our cues.

The moon at night has been fantastic.  HUGE harvest moonlight.  The sort of which I used to love to watch on my ride home after showing properties.

                                                     moon

This will be the winter that makes or breaks me.  But, I have every confidence that this will be the point of honor that I shall overcome.  Wish me well, please.

The moon has many renewing properties guiding the tides and pulling on the earth.... I think it will pull the best out of me...and you.

Change of season....change of recreation.  From boating to hunting to snowmobiling...it's all good.

I think you made your challenge with this one.... Congrats.

Hi Suzanne,  What a great blog!  So pretty is that moon whether in Minnesota or Texas, it's the same. :)  I am not wanting summer to be over but it is an early Fall this year.  We found a frog in our pool the other morning and it was asleep (hybernating).  Sorry to say, we had to wake him up when we scooped him out.     BTW, just sold a home to some MN residents.

Wow! That is early. And here, to think, I still go around barefoot in the yard. I guess I am lucky...

You will do well because your attitude screams success ! The changing of the seasons is a time to let go of the old way of doing things to a fresh new way. From the hot sassy summer attitude to the melancholy fall state of mind. Its all good because for every season, there is a reason behind the need to change. Even nature understands that.

Suzanne - It's a bit chilly but just perfect days for my roses.  They are now blooming again. I don't have to winterize them yet but I'm cleaning the garden beds slowly. Yes, every season brings different perspective in life.  Change is good and fall and spring are the best season for me.

Suzanne,  Well you were right summer is over and I am a little sad.  It really hit me today because I had to cover our pool for the season.  It was early this year most of the time it is late November but fall fell a little early this time.  One of my favorite days of the year is November 21st when the days start getting a little longer as far as daylight time.

Boy, this is like "old home" week.  So many bloggers here that used to be active and now aren't.  Sad.
