Bring On The Action!

When the Toronto Maple Leafs hit the ice to meet the Habs, the Montreal Canadiens on December 11th, we can all be watching the action in 3-D!  How cool is that?!

Can you imagine cheering our boys while watching them in three dimensions as if we were in the arena? Well you have to own a 3-D capable HDTV first, but that is just a minor issue right?  Most 3-D HDTVs include a set or two of the high tech specialty glasses required to watch the 3-D programs. Could be an expensive investment but on the other hand maybe a whole lot cheaper than those expensive arena seats!

3D HDTV GLASSES The Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, the CBC, will be airing two games of the Hockey Night In Canada in 3-D. The second game will air on February 20, 2011.

You watch things in 3D when you're at the arena?  What are you smoking beforehand???

I don't even have HD on my tv yet.  Boy am I behind times.  Have you guys got an Ipad yet?  They were touting it at the RE/MAX conference yesterday but I don't know anyone who has one.

I am so looking forward to the start of the NHL season. I'm a huge Rangers fan and am looking forward to a good season from them. To see a game in 3-D would be amazing!

Hi Al and Peggy - Did you buy a 3D TV???  I'm in no rush since I don't see how you can multi-task if you are wearing the 3D glasses.  I will wait until they improve the technology substantially and drop the prices significantly.  I also agree with Jenny - go see the Leafs at the ACC, if you can get tickets.

That does sound cool.  Good luck to your team.  I don't think I've ever watched a hockey game.

Al & Peggy - Awesome, I would love to see a sporting event in 3-D from the comfort of my own home.  Will this be the first 3-D sporting event for you both?

Hey kids, so are you going to watch the game at your son or daughter's place? That reminds me of the story of the man that said he was giving up smoking, yet he would take one from whomever was smoking nearby. All he gave up was buying the smokes. It's a lot cheaper to watch a game on a set that somebody else paid for using the connection services that someone else paid for. Interesting!!!!

Al and Peggy, this technology has decreased in price dramatically in a short time.  I am keeping an eye on how much programming is actually in 3D before I jump in.  The other issue for me is whether a consistent standard emerges or will we have different organizations fighting to promote their own technology...

Okay Bill, we will be listening how your Caps do against our Leafs LOL!

No Josh....let's Go Leafs get going!

No Jenny, no HDTV or iPad for us yet....last item was a Mac

Oh you are so right Wanda, the fights would be AMAZING!

Ahhh, the Rangers huh Craig? They are a team from way back, one of the originals for sure.

We would love you to come for a visit George, but no, we have not invested in a 3-D t.v.

No 3-D T.V. for us Marc, we have not been watching t.v. remember? But you're right, there wouldn't be any multi-tasking or if there were, it would be a bit weird!

Oh Christine, you do not know what you are missing, especially when the playoffs begin!!

Not yet Michelle, we just heard they were going to be broadcasting two of the games in 3D and thought it would be kinda neat.

We don't know Ellen, but wouldn't it be great? Now if they can just figure out a way of seeing 3-D without the glasses!!

Ha, ha, no Ed, no 3-D's there either. BUT we now have Netflix in Canada......

Exactly Chris! Two games in 3-D doesn't cut it for us!

I won't be interested in 3D until they make it so that we don't have to wear those silly-looking glasses.
