Good point - But when I think of John Jacob Astor - I  think of the one that went down on the Titanic.

Hi Roger, Interesting, Tribeca was the most expensive zip code in NYC last year. There have been a few $10 million plus sales at Superior Ink Condos and Townhouses in the West Village in 10014.

Mitchell,

Love the Astor quote, I think a lot of people would say that!  Thanks for sharing with us the different areas of New York.  It is wonderful that the demand continues and grows.

Hi Ron and Alexandra, Thank you. The Astor quote is one of my favorite quotes. We are fortunate that our market is exhibiting such demand. So far the Fall Season has been very strong. We are entering the last quarter with a sense of excitement and anticipation.

Wow, what a powerful quote.  Yes, I know it's expensive in our neck of the woods.  But, wow.

Oh, LOL abt Ruthmarie's quote.  yes, I do know his history, but I guess when I read A Night to Remember I always thought about both aspects.  Same thing when I went to Newport.

Fascinating list - I would also question Atherton, CA.  Isn't that just outside of Sacramento?  Not exactly a garden spot.  And what about Hawaii - very expensive.

All I can say is - my poor son - he and his girl friend are doing well in New York but when you look at these prices - wow - I am glad they are doing well, but it never seems that you are ever doing well enough!

Hi Debbie, Some of the greatest buildings in New York were built by the Astor family. The Waldorf Astoria hotel built by William Waldorf Astor is on the site of the original Astor mansion

David, LOL, New Jersey is a suburb of New York. There is something to be said about salt water. The closer to it the more expensive property values. Bi coastal is even better.

Hi Michael, David answered your question about Atherton. Thanks David. 96703, Anahola, Hawaii #60.

Lise, I hear you. I had a couple tell me after we left a showing, that if they were in the suburbs they would be considered rich but here they felt poor. It's all relative. There are a lot of good deals too. I'm in zip code 10024 in a really nice luxury building but my apartment is not worth $2.5M. Several sales above $10M can skew the zip code higher.
