99 Comments on The Secret To Lighting A Fire Under Your Own Butt
You are absolutely correct. Outside forces can only influence us to a point. The journey is long with lots of obstacles along the way. Sustaining and maintaining the level of motivation has to come from within us.
Thanks for instilling the fire within us.
Hi Gary, I think highly effective people go through a lot of matches lighting fires under their own butts!
Gary, I just motivated myself to do the 30 in 30 blog challenge and at the same time decided to do the South Beach diet - both worked off each other. But you're right, I did them for me, not for anybody else, and it worked! 30 blogs later and 10 pounds lighter :)
The power of positive thinking and determination for goals is what professionals have known for all of history. Your words today are so fresh and I do appreciate the inspiration and reminder! Thanks for sharing your strength.
Gary:
IF IT IS TO BE, IT IS UP TO ME.
Ty
Thanks for the inspiration. When things are not going well, it;s easy to forget that we have the power within us to suceed.
Wow, what a concept. When we take out buyers, we SEEK MOTIVATION. When we go on listing appointments, we SEEK MOTIVATION.
So when we want to do something for ourselves, we should SEEK MOTIVATION.
Thanks for the nudge....
Good post. Self motivation is more effective and cheaper than the 6 CD series from Tony or whomever. Shouldn't that turtle be lighting his own fuse?
Thanks for the good words.
I love Tony Robbins and most of the motivational speakers. Listening to them helps me focus, although I can see where someone would go overboard and get bored with it. You absolutely have to motivate yourself, in the end. But I like to listen to different speakers and get different perspectives. It helps my creativity.
I loved reading this post this morning. It's so true. You have to be happy with yourself and your personal goals and that will definitely transfer to your business life.
Knowing the outcomes that are important to you. How's that for a TR kind of quote. But it is key to what you say. And I did the TR firewalk in FW back in '96.
Gary can I give you an AMEN!!
And here I was hoping for the magic elixer. Thanks for reminding me of what I already know.
Gary,
Thanks for this great MOTIVATIONAL "peptalk"! You're absolutely correct! If it's something I want to do, I'm much more likely to do it than if I'm doing it for someone else. Thanks for the reminder!
Great advise!
Nothing beats this in self motivation...If its to be its up to me and FOR ME...
This is good stuff Gary and right on target. Thanks for the motivation.
Great Post! Motivated ME!
Gary,
Great post! I try to light the fire under me as much as possible. Thanks for a shot in the arm.
Love the picture and the Post Gary!!!! You are 100% Correct! Knowing what my "Why?" is.... keeps me focused!
