It’s actually part of the new Google URL shortener but it also creates a QR code for you as well! <= That’s the one for this post! You can find the new URL shortener by going here: http://goo.gl/ The result will be your very own shortened URL with it’s own QR code off to the right! Right click, save to your hard drive and then use anywhere you want. When a user takes a picture of your QR they’ll go to that site. Imagine the possibilities. For instance – I created this for my friend Jeremy in about 10 seconds. But did you see the Tracking? It comes with FREE tracking! So I tried it by tweeting a single tweet and in seconds I went to the tracking How cool is that? More Cool? The stats are public and live http://goo.gl/info/kvXw#week Want something Uber Cooler? – go to your browser and at the end of any shortened google link just add .qr – see what happens!
Hi Mike,
Very cool.
(I think)
I subscribed to your blog to see if it begins to make sense after a while

Mike - I've started to see QR codes regularly. Google makes it easy to get multiple things done at one time - QR code generation, short URL and tracking.
Mike, I "suggested" this for a feature.
I have a couple of questions, I am assuming this is for our Google Profiles?
Should we have one for our web-sites, blogs, listings?
Should their be more than one? I know the Dakno guys put one on my site, just wondering if that one is enough? or should I have more.
Ok so this was already set up for my blog. Should it be on everything I do? Shoud we add it to the footer of our AR blogs in the signatures?
Missy,
I have the same questions. Mike, is this something that we should have near our logos?

Phil - I'm actually not a huge fan of the QR code (yet). I have a blog post in draft on the subject. That said, they're gaining traction and this new Google tool is pretty cool.
Marc - yes they do. In this instance I think Google got it right. Sometimes that's not so true, eh?
Missy & Michele - Not for your Google profile but there's almost nothing you can't use them for. Think of them as just a link for smartphones. Take a picture with your phone and it'll send you the link destination. On signage that could lead to a single property website as an example. 3 years ago I had a QR code on the back of my biz card. At that time it was just a novelty.
Very interesting. The possibilities are percolating in my brain. Going to add to all of my property brochures and flyers. Maybe add to our RE signs and make stickers that can be added to open house signs.... have to think about this more. Hmmmm...
I'm getting REALLY excited about QR codes. But I think consumers are still a couple years out on them.
Dave - Yes there are quite a few different things you could do.
Lane - I totally agree. So how was REBCATL?
