Stowe Vermont Oktoberfest
The Rotary Club of Stowe once again did a magnificant job of sponsoring the 14th Annual Ocktoberfest. It was held at the Jackson Arena on September 24-26 in Stowe Vermont. Oktoberfest 2010 kicked off with a Grand Parade on Saturday, Sept. 25th. The parade entrants gathered along Weeks Hill Road, marched down the Mountain Road and through Stowe Village. It was a beautiful fall day. Locals and tourists lined the streets and enjoyed the parade.
After the parade, the festivities began at the Jackson Area. There, all enjoyed the music by Die Lustigen Almdudler and The Inseldudler. Throuhout the day, a Silent Auction and various raffles were held.
The most popular activities were dancing the polka, drinking - beer of course, and eating. The food included traditional German Festival entres such as bratwurst, hanschenwort, sauerkraut and bavarian desserts from the Trapp Family Lodge.
Throughout the day, I took photos during the parade and festival. Below is a slideshow so you can see what you may have missed. Maybe next year....?
