You can succeed in real estate!

I wrote a few previous blogs about my struggle with wanting to run a marathon, and don't worry this is not yet another.  But in my path to determination my running coach sent me this e-mail not after I asked for some motivation, but after I gave him a list of "why-nots."  I am blessed that I have not needed any motivation in my real estate business, but I know that some fellow rainers may be feeling in a slump or down.  So I encourage you to write a list of "why nots."  Make it huge, I mean really impressive.  Make it so grand that anyone that would read it would sympathize with you and say you are right.  

Then come back and read my reply, taken directly from my running coach...

The past does not equal the future...

Everyday is a new beginning...

Don't focus on the negatives...

and lastly,

Simply put one foot in front of the other...

You just need the courage to start, that's all.

You cannot truly enjoy success unless you have earned it. In today's market with hard work, a great attitude and determination........ you can succeed in real estate and feel good doing it. Today you have to earn it. Success will not come knocking on your door.

Thank you for the post!  I just love that you are training for a marathon.  I, too, am training... but for a half marathon to be done in October.  I'll have to write down these quotes when I'm about to go out for a run and don't feel up to it OR when I'm about to show property but feel like its going to be a waste of time...

Agreed with what a lot of your commenters are saying.  Success just doesn't show up on your doorstep...you have to work for it and show tremendous drive!
