4 Comments on Anybody Need a Utah Infrared Deer Hunting Guide?
Sounds like equipment that hunters will want to have. Enjoy the fall season.
Just look for apple trees, the game trails to the brook, stream or river. Think like a deer, moose, black bear and happy hunting. Without the electronics.
Fantastic images Brandon!
Better check your state regulations before posting or advertising this service. Most states it is illegal to utilize infrared equipment for hunting purposes. See below for a sample of one states regulations:
Party Hunting
Party hunting is illegal. In a party hunting arrangement, a hunter not only shoots to fill his/her license but also shoots additional deer to fill the licenses of other hunting party members.
Spotlighting
It is illegal to shine a spotlight, searchlight or other artificial light for the purpose of taking, attempting to take or assisting another person to take a deer, or to shine such a light while in possession of a firearm, bow or crossbow. It also is illegal for a person to deliberately cast a spotlight or other artificial light from a motor vehicle if in possession of a loaded firearm, bow and arrow or crossbow.
Violation Penalties
Any person who takes a deer in violation of any regulation will be penalized $500 in addition to any other penalty under the law. Equipment such as guns and vehicles used in violation of fish and wildlife laws may be seized for evidence, and upon conviction, confiscated at the discretion of the court.
Infrared Sensors/Electronic Calls
The use of infrared sensors or electronic deer calls to locate or take deer is illegal. It is also illegal to hunt or to retrieve deer with the aid of an infrared sensor or to hunt deer while possessing an electronic deer call.
Bill,
Yeah, I figured there had to be something in the works preventing Infrared Cameras but wasn't sure. I didn't really figure anyone would take me up on my offer with the Utah Hunting Season only being 3 days, but definitely thought it was an interesting idea.
Deer wouldn't stand the slightest chance of survival if hunters started using Infrared. It's the same as Predator hunting humans! Unless they have deer that are like Arnold Schwar(whatever) than they wouldn't stand a chance.
